Chemical soil treatments
A chemical soil treatment establishes a treated zone, soil around the perimeter and through concrete where necessary is dosed with termiticide so foraging termites cannot pass without contacting it. Applied to AS 3660.2, it remains the workhorse remedy for established Sydney homes once activity has been dealt with.

Timing
When it's needed
Suited to buildings where a continuous zone can physically be formed: reasonable perimeter access, known slab penetrations, and soil that will hold termiticide. Activity inside the building is addressed first; the zone then intercepts future foraging rather than curing the current infestation on its own.
Leave live termite workings undisturbed until a technician has seen them, keep children and pets away from freshly treated soil and open trenches during works, and never handle bait station contents. If you suspect termiticide has entered a waterway or tank supply, contact the applicator and the NSW EPA.
